In 1881 an enlightened town and gown project was launched to give boys from less advantaged backgrounds access to an Oxford education. COSA, the City of Oxford School Association, was originally formed in 2005 by and for former pupils of the City of Oxford High School for Boys so that the evidence of this did not disappear and a website was set up by old boy Mike Chew.
This fell into disuse around 2017. To maintain its presence in UK social history, this website was created in 2025 and has been populated with as many pages and other retrieved data from the original COSA website as was practical. Some rationalisation has been needed and not all data is relevant to everyone who will land here, but these surviving elements were all up and running in time for the diamond anniversary of the closure of the school on 19 July 1966. As a final gesture from the remaining cohort of students in memory of their old school.

Contributions welcome
As the years go by, Old Boys of the school are diminishing in number of course, so it is probable that this site will rapidly become just a record of the social history of their school rather than remain as an active resource. Comments do remain welcome however.
