Alan Trinder (1944-51) recounts that teacher Ian “Spud” Taylor left “half a garageful” of ephemera and precious OHS documents behind when he died. Because of his close relationship with Spud, his sister, the only relative left, asked Alan to take the items that were relevant to the school. COSA is grateful that The Oxford History Centre has since taken the majority into safe keeping for future generations, but there are still these odd items left.

The School Building
The COHS school building is part of the Oxford City conservation area and its frontage is considered to significantly enhance the general streetscape of George Street. The University is in charge of its conservation although the building belongs to the City.
